About Me
I’m Owen Dolberg, a Full-Stack Software Engineer, Architect, & Serial Entrepreneur with over 25 years in tech and business.
From hacking websites on Geocities in ’99 to architecting robust, scalable systems today. I’ve modernized legacy monoliths, built modern Blazor SaaS platforms, turned chaos into clean code, and founded successful ventures spanning hardware, design, and web solutions and even a thriving little bakery.
As a cancer survivor and a proud self-taught tech nerd, I bring battle-tested resilience and a passion for clarity to every project and enterprise.

Served as lead backend developer and primary data engineer, overseeing ETL processes, AI integrations, and complex data analysis while coordinating stakeholder needs for enhanced delivery; collaborated full-stack with mobile frontend teams and conducted technical interviews.
2025: Master of Science, Software Engineering
Western Governors University
Earned an MS in Software Engineering, with an emphasis Domain-Driven Design, mastering system architecture and cutting-edge software engineering practices.
2022: Bachelor of Science, Software Development
Western Governors University
Earned a BS in Software Development in an accelerated 4-month sprint, leveraging years of hands-on C# experience to excel in a program tailored to the .NET ecosystem. This milestone formalized my expertise, deepening my command of software architecture and solidifying my transition to a professional software engineering career.
2013–2022: Passion-Driven Developer
Gaming Communities & Technical Innovation
Fueled by a love for gaming and technology, I built and led online communities, developing real-time weather apps, GTAV FiveM multiplayer mods, custom Discord bots, and voice communication tools using C# .NET and other technologies. Managed high-volume game servers, engineered custom multiplayer environments, and provided technical support to fellow gaming groups—honing skills in systems architecture, networking, and creative problem-solving. These projects blended technical precision with community impact, reinforcing my expertise as a versatile software engineer.
2015-2016: Cancer Survivor
Overcoming Adversity
Diagnosed with cancer in 2015, I underwent chemotherapy and thankfully achieved remission by 2016. This turning point sparked a major life reset: redirecting my career toward software engineering. The experience forged my resilience and focus, qualities I now bring to solving complex technical challenges.
2010–2021: Multidisciplinary Engineer & Entrepreneur
Nightlife, Media, and Beyond
Operated as a technical specialist and entrepreneur across multiple domains, including nightlife, digital media, and freelance gigs. In the entertainment industry, I managed audio engineering, DJ operations, and nationwide nightclub installations—programming lighting systems, troubleshooting setups, and delivering under pressure. Concurrently, I founded and ran a design and media company, creating digital solutions for clients, while pursuing self-directed software projects that sharpened my coding expertise. These experiences laid the groundwork for my full transition to software engineering by 2021.
1999–2010: Early Tech Cool Kid
Web Design & Hardware Ventures
Kicked off my tech journey in 1999 as a junior high student, building websites for my school and experimenting on platforms like Geocities and with Flash. By the mid-2000s, I was running a scrappy company delivering custom websites for clients while also working as a professional computer builder, assembling and optimizing hardware for customers. These early ventures sparked my passion for coding, systems, and problem-solving—skills that evolved into a full-fledged software engineering career.
1984–1999: Child of the ‘90s Tech Dawn
When Dial-Up Was King
Grew up in the ‘90s, a magical era when tech was just waking up—no cell phones, no social media, just the hum of dial-up and the thrill of floppy disks. I watched the digital world bloom, from clunky PCs to the first whiffs of the internet, sparking a curiosity that led me to build my first website in ’99. Those raw, unplugged years shaped my love for tech’s potential and problem-solving.
